First Tabling!

What’s up Youtube, like and subscribe. Everyone at the festival looked so good. A lot of great fashion. Queers killing it as always. Love that. Grateful to friends who came to support and strangers who took an interest, as well as the people who managed the event.

Ended up making 3 zines from 9x12 drawing paper! Freestyle abstract cityscapes and locations drawn with colored brush pens: each zine had 3 such images, paired with a title and 2-3 factoids including a Privacy Level (5 eyes in a row, each open or closed based on the average degree of surveillance one could expect to be subject to). Some of the ‘scapes with higher Privacy Levels had blue eyes scattered within the drawings. Part 1 (“Cities of the Future”) was nearly done, believe I was lettering it when a friend and their partner strode up.

Said partner suggested colors and offered feedback while I was drawing Part 2 (“Cities of the Future: Places to Visit”), making it a collaborative project.

Wish I’d taken photos but the person who bought them seemed to really like them (“$3 each?!?” with what sounded like incredulity or surprise, maybe too low?) and ultimately I’m glad and grateful they connected. Remembered details are below, forgotten details denoted with “???”. I enjoyed creating these and will probably make more. Pre-fold, draw, leave em places.

Otherwise sold a few prints - Smile.tiff (people expressed liking this one), Beyond the Lunar Hall, Creatures Under the Scope. Someone asked what the story behind each piece was, and another asked about a specific one, and it was fun to make things up that made sense and hear what they thought.

A(nother) friend’s partner liked Damn baby was your daddy a kaleidoscope cuz uh, so that may get printed. I also think some of the prints could be made larger, based on how they look on my walls right now. I wish I’d gotten there earlier to walk around and explore the other vendors’ wares; there was a Black vendor with what looked like a self-created comic series (people building worlds!!!) and quite a few cool zines. Lots of talent in the room. Picked up a few at the end from the South Street indie comic/art store Partners and Son. Need to check out that place esspiditiously
